December 23 - Pakistan based Star Shipping has coordinated the transport of valve body casings, each weighing 58 tonnes, from Karachi to Muzaffarabad by road.
The cargo was loaded onto trailers at the Port of Karachi, before being delivered over 1,840 km by road to the site in Muzaffarabad.
Star Shipping explained that the route included a dangerous stretch of mountain road, where the truck could barely fit. This meant that the company had to perform a detailed route survey in advance, as well as have personnel travel far ahead of the convoy to check the road conditions at the time.
