The Netherlands-based Spliethoff Group has retired the Super Servant 4 heavy transport vessel.
The vessel was constructed in Japan in 1982. In 1995, it was extended by 30 m and modified for flo-flo yacht transport. Super Servant 4 joined Spliethoff in 2013 and has has been a fixture of the yacht shipping sector under the management of DYT/Sevenstar.
During its final two years of operations, the vessel was used within Spliethoff’s wind energy department, transporting nearly 1,000 wind turbine blades.
In September 2024, HLPFI reported that Spliethoff had placed an order for eight MPP vessels in a major expansion of its fleet.
