Spliethoff Group will start a monthly con-ro liner service from Belgium and the UK to the US East Coast from June 1.
With a swift transit time of 14 days, the service will call at Antwerp (Belgium), Bristol and/or Marchwood (UK) and the US gateways of Baltimore, Gloucester, and Morehead City. Return cargoes are also possible from the US East Coast to Europe.
Con-Ro vessels from Spliethoff’s sister company Transfennica will be deployed on the service. It said the ships are suited for general cargo and have a container capacity of approximately 640 teu, as well as up to 3,000 lane metres for ro-ro cargo. Spliethoff said it can also offer 14 days free storage, stripping and stuffing of cargo from containers, as well as inland road transport options with liner-owned containers.
