November 12 - Spedition Kuebler has transported an abnormal load of heavy machinery destined for a moulding press which is being assembled in Volkingen, Germany.
One particular item weighing 300 tonnes arrived by barge at Hannoversch Münden and was then taken 40 km by road to Hessisch Lichtenau for processing before its final delivery to Völklingen.
After a complex transfer from barge to low-loaders, the move via the A7 highway, which was closed for regular traffic.
Whilst in transit the 300 tonne load had to be rearranged on 12 more axles to spread the extreme weight in order to lower the pressure on the road surface.
For the final stage of the journey, Spedition Kuebler even had to remove the central barrier from the A7 to enable the convoy to exit the highway and proceed to Hessisch Lichtenau.
