September 3 - SNS claims to have set another trend in the history of air-freight by landing the first B747 cargo plane at Mogadishu Airport, Somalia.
The plane was loaded at Corlu Airport, Turkey and discharged at Mogadishu Airport, Somalia. Its cargo consisted of machinery and equipment intended for use in airport facilities, weighing around 80 tonnes.
Although security concerns often mean that aircraft are inclined against this, the B747 landed on the runway from the city side of Mogadishu, says SNS.
