April 20 - Following our news report earlier this week (April 17) that the Western Australian Government would aim to cut red tape to assist heavy haulage industry; Skelton Sherborne has said that when the one-stop shop does start it will be a vast improv
General manager, Warren Kerby says: "For Skelton Sherborne it would be beneficial if other state governments followed suit with this programme to reduce the red tape involved with the current segmented process. An example in Queensland for moving an excess dimension load would be that we have to apply to and co-ordinate permits and assorted escorts with: Police; Transport Department; Port-Connect; Telstra; Optus; Q Rail; Energex. As you can imagine this process is very time consuming; centralisation makes sense and saves time and money."
