March 24 - Seaway Heavy Lifting has been awarded a contract for the transportation and installation of 67 foundations and one substation for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project.
The contract will cover storage, transportation and installation of monopoles, transition pieces, jackets, as well as the offshore substation jacket and topside.
The monopoles to be installed range from 60 to 78 metres in length and 600 to 1,000 tonnes in weight, while the substation topside weight is estimated to be about 2,000 tonnes.
Seaway's crane vessel, Oleg Strashnov, will be utilised for the inshore loading, transportation and installation of the monopole foundations from a storage site to the offshore Dudgeon installation site.
The Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm lies to the north of the Sheringham Shoal Wind Farm, where Seaway successfully completed the installation of wind turbine generator foundations and substation topsides in 2011, on behalf of Statoil and Statkraft.
Installation work at Dudgeon is expected to begin between March and May, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed in August, 2016.
