December 2 - Port marketing company, Seaports of Niedersachsen, says it registered strong interest in port capacity and logistics solutions for the offshore wind energy industry at this week's international wind energy trade fair, EWEA offshore in Amsterd
Seaports of Niedersachsen was at the event promoting the capabilities of the Lower Saxony seaports which it markets for production, assembly and handling of offshore wind energy facilities and the services offered. The theme of logistics is a key planning issue for executives attending the EWEA offshore event.
More than 7,000 visitors attended EWEA offshore and several officials from the seaports of Lower Saxony were present at the Seaports of Niedersachsen booth exchanging information with wind energy decision-makers.
With their existing infrastructure, ports within the Seaports of Niedersachsen say they are leading base ports in Germany for the establishment and supply of offshore wind farms in the North Sea, gaining an excellent reputation for the services offered to the offshore industry.
Andreas Bullwinkel, managing director of Seaports of Niedersachsen, concluded that by meeting industry representatives from the UK, continental Europe, Asia and the USA, all involved in important decision-making processes in the award of contracts was important for the group. In the coming year, he added that Seaports of Niedersachsen would continue its active campaign to market its offshore competencies. "We are very confident that land in several of our ports will soon be used by the industry as production sites."
