January 13 - SDV Horoz Projects has handled the shipment of a second hand 275-tonne Wartsila engine from Samsun, Turkey to Kalecik in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The engine, which had the dimensions 13.7 m x 4.1 m x 6.1 m, was loaded onto a 16-axle hydraulic trailer using a gantry crane, while the engine's accessories were loaded onto flat bed trailers, and transported by road to the port of Samsun.
From Turkey, a geared vessel transported the cargo to the port of Famagusta in Northern Cyprus, where it was unloaded onto the same 16-axle hydraulic trailer for inland haulage to the power plant.
The engine was unloaded at the job site using the same gantry crane as before, which was temporarily imported into the country.
SDV Horoz Projects joined the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in November 2010 as a representative in Turkey.
