April 2 - Scheuerle has developed its HighwayGiant dual lane trailer for its American customer Sterett Crane & Rigging to fulfil the varying transport requirements across most US states.

Regulations concerning load distribution on roads and bridges vary and depend very much on state-specific legislation - each state stipulates specific load support and precisely regulates wheelbases and the distribution of the load.

Scheuerle's dual lane trailer HighwayGiant has been developed as a flexible vehicle concept in order to accommodate the variable vehicle widths and also have the ability to easily widen the vehicle under the load.

The loading area can be adapted to not only suit the size of the load but also its distribution over the length of the vehicle. Moreover, in order to achieve an optimal payload/tare weight ratio, the chassis is manufactured using a stable lightweight construction.

As a connection to the towing vehicle, a gooseneck or drawbar can be used and equipment such as spacers or decks can be easily fitted.

The HighwayGiant also features Scheuerle's pendulum axle technology - the hydraulic cylinders in the pendulum axles have a large displacement volume in order to be able to drive under and pick up loads, and the pendulum axle mounting supports easy manoeuvring when negotiating tight bends.
