April 17 - The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) named its winners of the Fleet Safety, Zero Accident and Fleet Safety Improvement awards during its annual conference in Arizona, USA.
Five SC&RA members received a Fleet Safety Award for having the lowest accident frequency rate in five separate mileage categories.
Florida's Landstar Systems won the award for the 'Over 100 Million Miles' category. Minnesota's ATS Specialised Inc won the 'Over 50 Million Miles' award. In the '5 Million to 20 Million Miles' category, Midwest Specialized Transportation of Minnesota won the gong. Wisconsin's Dawes DST was presented with the '1.5 Million to 5 Million Miles' award. Mammoet USA of Texas took the '100,000 to 1.5 Million Miles' safety prize.
Eight SC&RA member companies received the Zero Accident Award for having no recordable accidents during 2012. These companies are: Bridger Crane & Rigging, Wyoming; CJ Drilling, Illinois; Dawes DTS, Wisconsin; Kreitz Motor Express, Texas; Mammoet USA, Texas; White Construction, Indiana; Williams Specialized Inc, Ney York; and George Young Company, New Jersey.
A further five member companies were presented with a Fleet Safety Improvement Award, demonstrating a year-over-year reduction in 2012 for accident frequency in relation to miles travelled. The winners include: ATS Specialized, Minnesota; Daily Express, Pennsylvania; McTyre Trucking, Florida; Precision Heavy Haul, Arizona; and Riechmann Transport, Illinois.
