May 1 - During its annual conference from April 22-26 in Florida, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) elected Alan Barnhart from Memphis as president, and welcomed a host of new officers to its board.
Joining Barnhart as officers for the 2014-15 term are: Ron Montgomery of Intermountain Rigging and Heavy Haul as chairman; Bruce Forster of Rigging Gear Sales as vice president; Delynn Burkhalter of Burkhalter as treasurer; and John McTyre of McTyre Trucking as assistant treasurer.
Also joining the SC&RA board are four newly elected group chairs: Eddy Kitchen of Kitchen's Crane & Equipment joins as chair of the Allied Industries Group; Larry Curran of J.J. Curran Crane Company as chair of the Crane & Rigging Group; Jay Folladori of Landstar Transportation Logistics as chair of the Transportation Group; and Karen Wood of WHECO Corporation as chair of the Ladies Group.
The newly elected officers will serve one-year terms that will expire at SC&RA's next annual conference, which will be held from April 14-8, 2015 at the La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
SC&RA also elected six new board members to serve three-year terms: Scott Bragg of Bragg Companies; Michael Connelly of Connelly Crane Rental Corp; David Cowley of Cowley & Associates; Geary Buchanan of Buchanan Hauling & Rigging; Richard Miller of Bigge Crane & Rigging; and Gary Stang of Anderson Trucking Service.
