May 28 - Following the end of its agency agreement with Scan-Trans Houston earlier this month, SAL has joined forces with "K" Line in Houston and will open a new SAL USA office on June 1.
"K" Line staff in Houston will be joined by Per Haugaard and Russell Wolfe who previously represented SAL whilst working at Scan-Trans, Inc.
The new office will strengthen ties with its existing US clients and establish new relationships with companies involved in the offshore oil and gas industry, an area in which SAL has become more active handling both transportation and installation activities.
In December 2010 and March 2011, SAL will take delivery of its state-of-the-art type-183 new buildings which will be equipped with Dynamic Positioning and feature a combined lifting capacity of 2,000 tonnes enabling the line to offer even more assistance in offshore subsea installations, the erection of offshore wind power plants, as well as the transportation of heavy and unconventional cargoes.
