June 18 - Ruslan International has transported four wing assemblies from Oklahoma to Tel Aviv for the recently launched Gulfstream G280 super midsize business jet.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma branch of Kuehne + Nagel chartered the aircraft to fly the wings from the manufacturing plant in Oklahoma to Israel.
With each crated wing weighing around 8 tonnes and measuring 7.14 m x 2.24 m x 1.14 m, their ground transportation required escorts and special loading equipment was necessary to get the units onboard the aircraft.
At a total weight of 32 tonnes, the load was one of the lightest but bulkiest carried by the airline, said Ruslan.
Ruslan International is a joint venture company which manages and markets the 17-strong fleet of Antonov AN-124 aircraft belonging to its shareholders Antonov Airlines and Volga Dnepr Airlines.
