September 30 - Ruslan International has transported an ARSAT-2 satellite from Bariloche in Argentina to Cayenne, French Guiana onboard one of its AN-124-100 freighter aircraft.

Ruslan explained that the environmental conditions required during the construction and transportation of the satellite made the shipment particularly complex, with the cargo needing to be processed and handled as quickly and carefully as possible, in order to meet the strict delivery schedule of Guiana Space Centre.

"Following the successful transport of ARSAT-1 last year, we were delighted to be able to work on this project once again with the ARSAT-2 lift. Loads such as these that have such a wide-ranging impact are a privilege to work on," said Peter Baldauf at Volga-Dnepr Unique Air Cargo.

The launch of ARSAT-2 at the Guiana Space Centre will see an array of telecommunications services delivered across South America by an Argentina-owned satellite.
