November 8 - Fracht USA has handled the delivery of a Siemens 4-pole generator rotor and two fan assemblies to the Hydro One Networks facility in Pickering, Canada.
The 146 tonne rotor was picked up from the Siemens Manufacturing facility in the UK and delivered to a small quay at the port of Newcastle for ocean transport via part charter to the Port of Oshawa, Ontario. Once discharged in Oshawa the rotor was transported on a 12 line hydraulic trailer to the final destination.
Even with six months of careful planning, there were last minute issues which could have jeopardised meeting the delivery deadline, says Fracht , but having identified the issues immediately and made successful adjustments to the delivery plan, the cargo was delivered within a 14 day transit from the manufacturer's facility in the UK all the way to the jobsite in Canada.
