Rockfreight can trace its origins back almost 20 years when in 1997, Dieter Georg Tondera, former director of deugro France, assumed control of the company's offices in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The company, with its headquarters in Lorient, France and its global management hub in Dubai, UAE, was renamed DGTL in 2000, when its started to expand into new industry sectors and markets.
In 2005, leadership of the company passed to Marc Tondera, the founder's son.
Historically, project cargo is Rockfreight's core business, particularly on large-scale construction projects within the oil, gas and energy industries.
