September 20 - Abu Dhabi Ports achieved a 4 percent year-on-year increase in ro-ro volumes handled in the first half of 2016.
In total, 58,000 vehicles passed through the organisation's ports in the first half of the year.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Ports recorded an 11 percent year-on-year increase in containerised cargo throughput during the reporting period.
"These results demonstrate the crucial role that Abu Dhabi Ports plays as the UAE's regional and increasingly global maritime trade hub, especially for those seeking to access the USD7.8 trillion Middle East, Africa and South Asian region," said Abu Dhabi Ports ceo Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi.
"We continue to invest and upgrade our offerings and facilities to support fast, interconnected and efficient supply chains while also reaffirming Abu Dhabi's position as a centre of excellence in maritime trade."
