May 2 - Five reactors for an oil refinery have been transhipped in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. The 6,500 tonne shipment was stored at the Rhenus Logistics Midgard terminal before being loaded onboard Sal Heavy Lift's the vessel MS Svenja for export to North A

Matthias Schrell, managing director of Rhenus Midgard Wilhelmshaven, explained that transhipments of this nature are unusual at north German ports. "Not every terminal is suitable for this kind of process. We only had to make a few minor adjustments in order to be able to handle the enormously heavy reactors in a safe and efficient manner."

The heaviest unit in the shipment weighed 1,500 tonnes. The 12,975 dwt Svenja used its two 1,000-tonne lifting capacity cranes to safely place the heavy cargoes onboard.
