January 5 - Rhenus Logistics has coordinated the transport of three oversize tanks from the Port of Saint-Nazaire to the Port of Corbeil-Essonnes in France.
Manufactured by Tissot Industry at its Saint-Nazaire plant, the three tanks weighed 180 tonnes each, with the dimensions 40 m x 5.86 m x 6.13 m.
Rhenus' industrial projects department chartered the vessel Oceanic, which is operated by Amasus Shipping, to ship the tanks between Saint-Nazaire and the Port of Le Havre.
On arrival in Le Havre, the tanks were discharged using a heavy lift crane and transferred onto three river barges, also specifically chartered for this project.
The barges transported the cargo downriver to Corbeil-Essonnes, where two 500-tonne capacity cranes were used to unload the tanks onto three trailers for onward transportation by road to Aubigny-sur-Nère.
