June 9 - R&B Global Projects has been awarded a contract to transport four inland barges from the Indian Port of Mormugao to Libreville in Gabon.
R&B has loaded the first two barges - each of which weighed 500 tonnes and measured 69 m long - onto a semi-submersible heavy lift vessel in India, ready for delivery to Gabon.
In spite of the monsoon season, R&B director Dave Roosen explained that the loading process was completed smoothly within a tight timeframe.
The shipment of the next two barges is scheduled for autumn 2016.
