September 20 - Contecon Guayaquil SA (CGSA),Ecuador, operator of the Guayaquil Container and Multipurpose Terminals (GCMT), has taken delivery of a third G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane from Gottwald Port Technology GmbH (Gottwald).
The Model 6 crane went into operation last month at the Port of Guayaquil which is Ecuador's main international trading gateway.
The latest delivery brings to eight the total number of Gottwald cranes sold to Ecuador since 1987, which makes the company market leader in mobile harbour cranes in this Latin American country, says the company.
Model 6 of Gottwald's Generation 5 crane, is a harbour crane for high performance applications and high handling rates - assured by lifting capacities of up to 125 tonnes, working radii of up to 51 m and very high hoisting speeds of up to 120 m/min. The G HMK 6407 variant, chosen by ICTSI/CGSA for the Port of Guayaquil in Ecuador, has a lifting capacity of up to 100 tonnes and a working radius of up to
51 metres. Gottwald says that Model 6 is also well suited to terminals performing a significant number of heavy load lifts.
