June 9 - Port Freeport's board of commissioners elected new officers at its latest meeting, which took place on June 4.
The commissioners unanimously elected Ravi Singhania as chairman of the port commission. Bill Terry was elected as port commission vice chairman. The other positions agreed upon were: Paul Kresta, port commission secretary; Rudy Santos, port commission assistant secretary; Shane Pirtle, port commissioner; and John Hoss, port commissioner.
Prior to the meeting, new commissioner Rudy Santos was sworn in during a formal ceremony. Santos replaces retired commissioner Thomas Perryman, who served on the port's board for 24 years.
