March 21 - Southampton, UK headquartered boat transportation specialist Peters & May has been named preferred shipping agent for The Christmas Caribbean Rally (CCR) - a new transatlantic rally.
The CCR launches from Marina Rubicon, Lanzarote on December 16, 2013 and will finish in Jolly Harbour, Antigua in early 2014.
Peters & May is offering preferential rates for any shipping to Lanzarote before the event or from the Caribbean afterwards - including the transportation of spares, provisions and the yachts themselves.
On March 14, Peters & May delivered the first V065 hull to the Green Marine boatyard, UK (pictured). Peters & May shipped the 19.8 m hull, built by Persico, from Bergamo, Italy through Austria, Germany and Holland before arriving in the UK. The project took six days to complete.
The carbon fiber hull will form part of the Volvo Ocean 65 catamaran that will enter the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015.
Peters & May has also discharged the brand new 45 m long feadship Blue Sky in Hong Kong (pictured below). The 490 tonne super yacht will be displayed at the Hainan Rendezvous yacht show, running March 30 - April 2, 2013.
