The UK’s PD Ports has secured a deal with Cargow that will see the Dutch shipping line operate a bi-weekly connection to Teesport.
The service will connect PD Ports’ facilities in Teesport with the west coast of Norway; east coast of Iceland; the Faroe Islands; Shetland, and Rotterdam. PD Ports added that the service will support key sectors in the Tees Valley, including offshore wind and oil and gas projects.
Stefan Stefansson, ceo of Cargow said: “We have chosen Teesport because of its location, accessibility and connectivity for onward transport, as well as its high service level. We have confidence in PD Ports because the company is well experienced in handling both containers and project cargoes.”
The service will be operated by Cargow’s vessel Frigg W, which is capable of handling both containers and project cargo.
Cockfield Knight has been appointed as port agents for the multipurpose service.
