May 2 - Members of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) have completed several project cargo moves across the globe.
Europe Cargo, PCN member in Belgium, has transported a yankee dryer weighing 121 tonnes and measuring 8.56m x 5.12 m x 5.21 m. The pressure vessel, used in the production of tissue paper, was loaded on board Hapag Lloyd's Cartagena Express.
The cargo was loaded onto the container vessel using a Brabo floating crane and transported to Buenaventura, Colombia.
Fellow PCN member, CEA Project Logistics Myanmar, has handled the transportation and installation of two 18-tonne vertical storage tanks at a brewery in Yangon, Myanmar.
A 100-tonne capacity mobile crane and a 30-tonne capacity tailing crane were positioned either side of the tanks to lift the cargo above the adjacent buildings. The tanks were then lowered onto the concrete bases, allowing for final alignment and anchor bolts to be fixed.
Meanwhile, M-Star Freight Services has handled the delivery of equipment for a paper producing factory from the Netherlands to Germany for fellow PCN member, Freja Transport & Logistics.
The cargoes, which measured 15.5 m x 3.89 m x 3.96 m, and 7.7 m x 3.48 m x 3.56 m, were transported by truck and barge.
In a separate project, Freja Transport & Logistics, PCN member in Finland, Denmark and Norway, has transported four evaporation units from Finland to Sweden.
Each unit had dimensions of 13.9 m x 5.15 m x 5.38 m and weighed between 80 and 90 tonnes. Freja loaded the units onto a chartered coaster vessel using port and mobile cranes, before discharging the cargoes in Sweden onto trailers for delivery to the project site.
