April 5 - Martin Pain has joined the Project Cargo Network (PCN) as office manager and will be taking on the day-to-day responsibilities involved with the running of the PCN HQ in the UK.
Pain joins PCN direct from freight forwarding industry, where, since his first involvement in 1996, he has worked across the full spectrum, progressing from junior to management level - overseeing operations, sales and marketing, import, export and cross trade, from small parcels to large scale projects. His previous role also involved being the main contact point within a freight network, of which he brings valuable experience.
Martin's role with PCN will include: raising the profile of the network within the heavy lift and project cargo industry by forming collaborations with the top industry exhibitions and events; securing alliance agreements with charter ship owners/operators, heavy lift air charter and insurance companies; campaigns to drive new business and potential customers to PCN members; as well as identifying and assisting PCN members to participate in global bids for major infrastructure projects.
