May 4 - Orient Overseas Container Lines (OOCL) has reported that for the first quarter of 2017, total volumes were up 7 percent from the same period last year, reaching 1.47 million teu, compared to 1.37 million teu.
Total revenues rose by 6.4 percent to USD1.19 billion from USD1.11 billion previously. While the loadable capacity and overall load factor increased by 0.9 percent and 5 percent respectively, overall average revenue per teu fell by 0.6 percent compared to the first quarter of 2016.
While Transpacific and Asia-Europe revenue increased by 10.8 percent and 28.9 percent respectively, revenues fell in the Transatlantic and Intra-Asia/Australasia services.
