August 13 - Offshore Wind Consultants, a part of Aqualis, has established a new office in Hamburg to serve its growing client base and project work in the region.
Ian Bonnon, managing director of Offshore Wind Consultants, said: "The opening of our new office in Hamburg recognises the strategic importance of Germany in the offshore wind sector."
Offshore Wind Consultants drew attention to the fact that during 2014, renewable energy constituted 25.8 percent of the total electricity production in Germany, thereby becoming the country's biggest energy source for the first time, according to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries.
"We are delighted to have grown our business in a positive way which has allowed us to expand into Germany ahead of our planned global expansion plans," Bonnon added.
Offshore Wind Consultants' newly established German subsidiary will trade under the name of OWC (AQUALIS) GmbH.
Aqualis Offshore is a specialised marine and engineering consultancy focusing on the shallow and deepwater offshore segments of the oil and gas and renewables industries.
