April 7 - Nurminen Logistics has transported two 95-tonne converters from the Finnish city of Outokumpu to the port of Pori.
The converters, each of which had the dimensions 10.1 m x 5.44 m x 5.37 m, were transported by road to the port in especially harsh winter weather conditions, with temperatures remaining below -20 degrees throughout the transport.
Despite the challenges, Nurminen successfully moved the converters to Pori, where the company's German partner for this project, LS-International Cargo, continued the transport of the converters to their final destination in Namibia.
Nurminen also recently handled the transport of two 190-tonne engines from Rauma to Turku for the cruise liner, Mein Schiff 4, which is being built at the STX Turku shipyard.
The engines were transported on a 16-axle modular platform, and a pusher vehicle was used in addition to a truck.
Nurminen Logistics is a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network in Finland, while LS-International Cargo is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Germany.
