June 11 - Van der Vlist has added a new ten-axle semi-trailer to its fleet, which was put to use immediately collecting cable reels from Trieste in Italy for delivery to Zelzate in northern Belgium.
The transport of the three reels, each of which weighed 92.25 tonnes and had the dimensions 4 m x 3.5 m x 3.6 m, required a route survey to be carried out to ensure an appropriate route for such cargo.
Van der Vlist explained that this was not a problem for the first of the reels, but a new route had to be four for the second and third reels due to road works in Germany.
National holidays also halted the journey on many days and in order to make up this time, special permits were applied for in order to drive during the weekend.
