October 14 - Nanaimo Port Authority has invested in a new 104-tonne capacity Liebherr 500 mobile harbour crane, increasing its capacity for the handling of project and breakbulk cargo.

The port, located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, is in the process of commissioning its new crane, said manager of the terminal facilities, Jason Michell.

Michell also told HLPFI that Nanaimo Port Authority is currently building a new barge berth at the Canadian gateway, which is intended to ‎alleviate congestion on the main terminal.
