February 29 - Prangl has handled the transportation of an 80 tonne vintage excavator to the mining museum in Karlschacht, Austria.
Space restrictions meant that the excavator, which measured 17 m long, 4.35 m wide and 4.77 m high could only be transported via a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT), or be disassembled entirely, which would have been too expensive.
The 14-axle SPMT with the excavator had a total weight of around 160 tonnes and at around 38 m in length, the vehicle combination had to overcome numerous bottlenecks and complex situations on route to Karlschacht.
