November 16 - Stevedoring company Portus has helped move three helicopters and ten ambulances through Jaxport's heavy lift and project cargo berth at Blount Island Marine Terminal.

Worth in between USD35 million and USD40 million each, the helicopters weighed up to 4.5 tonnes and measured around 55 ft long (16.7 m).

They were loaded one-by-one on board the US-flagged Intermarine general cargo vessel Ocean Freedom. The ambulances were loaded onto a platform lift before being placed aboard the ship two-at-a-time.

The helicopters and ambulances are being shipped to northern Africa through the US government's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, which promotes stability and peace through the sale of equipment to US allies overseas.
