March 16 - The US military has landed 48 specialty Army helicopters and three Air Force helicopters at Jaxport's Blount Island Marine Terminal.
The Army helicopters, which arrived from the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, will be prepared over the next two weeks before being shipped to destinations in Europe onboard a ro-ro vessel; while the Air Force helicopters will be flown to an Air Force base in northwest Florida.
The aircraft shipments are being handled by the US Army's 832nd transportation battalion, which is headquartered at Blount Island.
