October 24 - Member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Indonesia, MI Logistic, has handled two complex projects, including the export of transformers and the import of steel components.
PCN representative in Spain, Marmedsa Proyectos, nominated MI Logistic to handle the export of a set of 29-tonne transformers from Jakarta to Chittagong in Bangladesh.
The transformers, which had the dimensions 4.4 m x 2.5 m x 3.9 m, were shipped on a Hanjin Shipping vessel and required two flatrack containers, two open-top containers, one high cube container, and a standard container for transport.
Ropinus Tambunan, managing director at MI Logistic, explained the scope of the company's work: "For this export work, we handled the stuffing of the heavy lift cargo onto a lowbed truck, the lashing, the inland transportation from the shipper's factory to the Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta, and booking the shipping line."
MI Logistic also recently handled an import project from Xingang, China to Cikampek in West Java, Indonesia, which involved the delivery of 329 steel components weighing a total of 297 tonnes.
At the Indonesian port, the cargo was loaded onto 22 trucks and transported to its final destination.
"We handled all the costing and local jobs in Indonesia, including full payment of duties and taxes," said Tambunan.
