Martin Bencher has moved two filter parts from Poland to Ireland.
The total weight of the consignment was 61 tonnes and consisted of an air heater measuring 14 m in length, 5.6 m in width and 5.6 m in height, plus a bag filter measuring 7 m in length, 7 m wide by 4 m high.
Martin Bencher was responsible for the pre-carriage of the units via barge to Gdańsk port, unloading from the barge to the quayside, as well as reloading onto a coaster vessel in preparation for delivery to Sligo port, Ireland.
Shore cranes were used to lift the cargoes onto the Wilson-operated coaster.
Norway-based Martin Bencher said the project faced significant challenges, including a major storm in the North Sea, but the cargo arrived in Sligo as scheduled. However, high winds at the port of destination meant that the discharging operation was delayed by 24 hours.
The port gate in Sligo also had to be removed to enable the large units to exit the port.
