July 24 - Following an increase in projects across the Middle East, Mammoet has opened offices in the UAE and Oman in order to provide more localised support.
The offices in Sohar and the Mussafah Industrial area in Abu Dhabi are in addition to the established head office in Dubai.
Mammoet has been operating in the Middle East for over 40 years, and the offices will increase its offering of specialist services in engineered heavy lifting and transport, as well as provide better support for its clients in the region.
Meanwhile, Mammoet Russia has transported and installed two 450-ton (408-tonne) coke drums and five modules of preassembled metal structures, for the construction of a delayed coker unit at OSJC "Naftan" in Novopolotsk, Belarus.
The metal structures, the heaviest of which weighed 365 tons (331.1 tonnes), once installed reached a height of 113 m.
Mammoet's ring crane - the PTC 35 DS - performed the lifting operations on site, as its lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes, combined with its small footprint and 120 m long reach, worked well within the limited area onsite.
According to Mammoet, with the PTC 35 DS, the number of the lifting operations was reduced to nine, which meant the project schedule was also reduced by several months.
