April 5 - Mammoet Canada has opened a branch operation in Grande Prairie, in the Peace River Country.
According to Mammoet, this new branch is part of its global strategy to have a local presence in regions with a strong industrial base.
The branch will support the Peace Region's businesses while providing supplemental support to Mammoet's operations in Fort St John, British Columbia.
Trevor Liviniuk, branch operations manager, said: "Grande Prairie is a rapidly growing business environment with exciting projects in oil and gas facilities and oilfield well servicing."
The branch will provide engineered heavy lift and transport support to ongoing business and proposed projects predominantly within the oil and gas sector.
In Germany, Mammoet has opened a branch office in Krefeld-Uerdingen. According to Mammoet, the office will allow it to better serve its clients in the Rhine/Ruhr area with engineered heavy lifting and transport services, including equipment setting and turnaround services.
The new branch will receive support from Mammoet regional office in the south of the Netherlands. Cees de Bont, director of the region south at Mammoet Netherlands, said: "This is an important extension of the European Mammoet network. It fits well with our strategy to be present near our customers."
