January 18 - MAC Logistic International Group has coordinated the shipment of a 64-tonne rotor from China to Brazil.
The cargo was loaded onto a container ship using two 40 ft flatrack containers at the Port of Shanghai before being shipped to Brazil's Santos port, where it was unloaded and transported to its final destination in Pindamonhangaba.
"The rotor was fully wrapped in woven sheets and protected with wooden crates on its cylinder sides and then mounted on two wooden cradles and secured with belts," explained MAC business development director Paulo Gomes.
He added that the cargo was lashed down using 24 pieces of double cord-lashing, all of which was padded and protected.
MAC is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Brazil.
