October 21 - A Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane, deployed by Wiesbauer GmbH, has been used in a project to modernise the railway station at Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
For this project the Liebherr crane was equipped with a 49 m main boom and derrick system.
The 750-tonne heavy-duty crane moved two 240-tonne precast concrete units, which were to be used as pedestrian underpasses, from the assembly site to the track areas.
Since the pre-assembled elements were so heavy, the weight had to be distributed evenly between the four lifting straps embedded in the concrete. To achieve this, a heavy-duty traverse with compensators was used, and specially made rope pulleys were fixed to the 120-tonne shackles.
Wiesbauer, which is headquartered in Bietigheim-Bissingen, is a heavy logistics operator, offering crane, transport and assembly services throughout Germany.
