September 9 - Though fighting is still continuing in the country and Colonel Gadaffi remains at large, a degree of normality is returning to Libya.
HLPFI reported (Sept 8) that Nordana has restarted its regular direct ro-ro service from the US Gulf and East Coast into Libya.
Now, a second line, Sloman Neptun, is also returning, says its agent, Cory Brothers Shipping Agency Ltd, to run services from the UK.
The service will re-commence with the first sailing of Sloman Trader and Triumph from Spain to Tripoli with cargo volume of more than 600 teu.
The sailings will consequently lead to the first firm sailing from the North Continent and UK to Libya and are expected to include ports of call Tripoli, Misurata and Benghazi.
