During September 2019, Greece-based Kroustalelis Special Transport utilised a combination of Golderhofer THP/LTSO heavy-duty modules for the transport of two oversized components to the port in Thessaloniki.
The components included a naptha splitter and a deisohexanizer, which both measured 67 m long, and weighed up to 190 tonnes. The equipment, manufactured by EKME, was moved from the production facility to the port – a distance of 14 km – for onward delivery to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Kroustalelis used a Goldhofer THP/LTSO trailer in a 16-axle combination to transport the components. With the tractor, the load had a total length of over 77 m.
According to Goldhofer, the move was completed over two weekends to minimise disruption to rush hour traffic. From the port, the components were shipped to Baku.
