Two multipurpose berths have been inaugurated at Deendayal port in Kandla, India, according to Sai Shipping.
Berths number 14 and 16 will increase Deendayal’s capacity and enable larger ships to anchor at the port, according to Sai Shipping. This will mean the port can handle larger volumes of cargo.
Each berth has a draught of 13 m and can accommodate 75,000 dwt vessels.
The port is also constructing a 21 ha area at each berth. According to Sai Shipping, there are no shore cranes available at these berths.
