July 27 - Jumbo Offshore's heavy lift vessel, Jumbo Javelin has installed its 100th transition piece (TP) for the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm (GGOWF), off the UK's south-east coast.
For this project, Jumbo's activities include transport, installation, levelling and grouting of the TPs. The close cooperation between all parties (client Fluor, Jumbo's crew, the project team and subcontractors) has resulted in a record-breaking installation performance.
To date, the work has taken less than three and a half months. and with another 30 TPs to go, Jumbo expects to complete its installation work in the second half of August, well ahead of the scheduled completion date.
