September 2 - A 122-tonne gas-fired reciprocating engine has been handled at the Port of Jacksonville's (Jaxport) Talleyrand Marine Terminal, USA.

The 11.2 m long Wärtsilä engine arrived on a Spliethoff vessel from Rauma, Finland and was transferred directly from the ship to a 12-axle railcar waiting dockside.

Freight forwarder deugro (USA) oversaw the process at the Talleyrand terminal, as workers lifted and positioned the engine on the railcar.

The use of Talleyrand's on-dock rail facilities provided the shortest distance to the engine's final destination at the Gainesville Regional Utilities South Energy Center in Florida, explained Jaxport.
