March 16 - Reverberations across global supply chains are certain following last Friday's earthquake in Japan and the devastating impact of the resulting tsunami on the costal region north of Tokyo.
The terrible human tragedy, the extent of the coastal urban landscape that has been devastated and the ongoing threat from damaged nuclear power plants is shocking to see. Essential utilities have all been affected, with power cuts and water shortages.
No doubt, over the next few months, the full impact of this disaster and its impact on supply chains will be assessed and conclusions drawn.
