June 8 - Ivens Transport & Kraanbedrijf (ITK), a subsidiary of Ivens Constructiebedrijf, is on the move in the port of Antwerp to a new 24,000 cu m facility which will house the company's fleet of specialist heavy lift vehicles.
ITK has operational licences for the Benelux, France and Germany, and has five escort vehicles, as well as four mobile cranes with a lift capacity from 40 to 140 tonnes.
Greet Ivens, managing director of Ivens Transport & Kraanbedrijf NV says that Transport & Kraanbedrijf has expanded as a result of the growth of its parent company and has become a full autonomous company, what made it necessary to move to its own premises.
Ivens NV was founded in 1930 by Leon Ivens and has become a respected partner in the construction and renovation of all sorts of tanks for storage of fuels and chemicals. In 1976, the transport subsidiary was added to the group as a separate limited company and in 1979 the site at Noorderlaan was opened. At the beginning of 2007, ITK together with Aertssen Kranen founded the joint venture 'Roll-iT'.
