February 12 - Globalink's project logistics team has handled a turnkey transportation project of three mills from China for a gold mine in the southeast of Kazakhstan.
The mills, each of which weighed 650 tonnes, had to be disassembled into multiple pieces weighing 50 tonnes each for transport.
Specialised heavy lift equipment was deployed to handle the transportation, lashing, loading and unloading processes, and Globalink's industrial projects packing team helped secure each component in China and arrange specialised crating for sensitive mill parts.
Once the cargoes were secured on trailers, the disassembled mills were transported over 3,500 km by road from Luoyang city to Kazakhstan, via Khorgos on the Sino-Kazakh border.
At Khorgos, Globalink's Customs brokerage team completed the clearance and certification process, before the cargo was delivered to the jobsite and unloaded for installation.
