December 5 - Wagenborg has transported equipment for a gas treatment installation for the Donkerbroek-Hemrik development project in Friesland, the Netherlands.
The three largest modules for the gas treatment installation, which had a maximum weight of 37 tonnes, were loaded at a fabrication yard in Oud Beijerland, before being transported by road to the nearest quayside and transhipped onto an inland waterway vessel.
With a maximum length of 9 m a height of more than 5 m, Wagenborg explained that it was not possible to transport the components solely by road to the project site. Therefore, the cargo was shipped by river to the inland port of Drachten, where Wagenborg's cranes were used to lift the equipment onto trailers.
Supported by escorts, the convoy then drove the final 20 km to the jobsite.
